Material Honesty & Ethical Curation
The Ethics of Materiality
At Hearth & Haven, we believe that luxury is found in the honesty of materials. A sanctuary should be built on foundations that last, which is why our curation process is governed by three strict environmental standards:
1. Solid Timber Commitment: We prioritise solid woods—oak, walnut, and teak. Unlike veneers or composite boards that degrade over time, solid wood lasts longer. It captures carbon and matures beautifully, becoming an heirloom rather than landfill.
2. Ethical Artisan Partnerships: We partner with specialised global workshops. Our curation team hand-selects global workshops that share our commitment to fair labor and traditional joinery.
3. Direct-Path Logistics: We utilise a lean, modern shipping model. By moving pieces directly from our artisan partners to your door, we significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with traditional multi-stop retail warehousing. It is a smarter, cleaner way to furnish a sanctuary.
